From the beginning of this school year (2000/2001) our grammar school has attended a European Union’s program. It’s called Socrates (Czech Republic joined it in 1997). We cooperate also with schools from Austria (Linz), Italy (Asti in Piemont) and France (Quimper in Bretagne) in program Comenius. This project belongs to Socrates. At the beginning of shool-term (13.10.2000) there was a meeting in Prague. There were teachers-organizers from all Czech schools, which had begun working in project. (This project will probably last for 3 years.) Participants of the meeting could utilize advices of people, who had worked on similar project before. One month later (10.-13.11.2000) there was a meeting of teachers-organizers from French, Italian, Austrian and Czech schools. This time in Linz. Since this meeting we have been working with students in project „European history under the aspect of history of imigration in the 20th century”. Some 5th class students from Czeski Cieszyn and some 3rd class students from our school take part in this project.
